Ohio Council for Children with Behavior Disorders Book Discussion Group:
The Ohio CCBD Book Discussion Group is a great way to connect with other educators who are supporting students with behavioral disorders. We welcome new members to our book group at any time, and you can come in and out of the group as your schedule allows. We typically meet during the months of January, February, March, April, October and November.
We have two upcoming meetings this year. Please join us.
Saturday, March 23 at 9:00 AM ET
Rick Van Acker is a emeritus faculty member at the University of Illinois at Chicago and is a frequent speaker at conferences related to emotional and behavioral disorders. For our discussion today, we will take a look at a presentation he gave in Illinois some years ago about FBAs and BIPs. This is one of the publicly available videos that Rick has shared. You can watch the video by clicking here.
Interested individuals can email email@example.com to receive the Zoom link for our March 23 discussion.
Saturday, April 27 at 9:00 AM ET – Book Discussion
Join us as we read Inclusive Instruction for Students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders: Pulling Back the Curtain, John McKenna, et.al. editor, Chapter 5 and Chapter 12. Each chapter is totally self-contained in this book, and you can join in with any chapter. The book overviews strategies based on recent research for working with student with emotional and behavioral disorders. This book is available through Amazon and can also be ordered through the Inter Library Loan system at your local Ohio library (while your neighborhood library will likely not have the book, they can usually order it from an academic university library). Please feel free to contact us if you need assistance in getting a copy of this reading.
Interested individuals can email firstname.lastname@example.org to receive the Zoom link for our April 27 discussion.
